My writing prompts were originally written for my students, to help them loosen up and put words on paper. They aren't contests, challenges, or invitations. Rather, think of them as triggers to your memory and imagination when you want to write but don't know where to start. They're intended to stimulate and shake up your thinking, not to hand you an idea, but rather to prompt you to discover your own. You may find that that they lead to other kinds of writing besides haiku. That's fine, too. 😊
I'll post another one each week until I catch up to the present. All will be archived here for your future use or reference. Please attribute to Shannon Chamberlin if you share them with others.
